Week 5 EOC : MidTerm

Martha and Snoop Super Bowl

Snoop and Martha  commercial was hilarious and they started a cooking show which I watch and it is so funny I really enjoy the cooking show. The commercial stems from there cooking show. Which
is a cooking and comedy mixed together. The clip is from there show and in a around about way Snoop lost something and Martha was hinting on what he was missing. Of course we all know that
Snoop smokes Bud (Green Bud). So when she is asking what he is missing he keeps searching and
it's revealed on what he is missing. It's in a home setting like a comfy couch and a great setting. He
is looking very puzzled on what happened to his Smoke. Martha is going about her thing explaining
a recipe.

She is showing cook ware and advertising her latest cook ware I'm sure. Martha and Snoop have a flair for the unusual sense of flair. There a wonderful team . There funny and witty and you would
buy anything these two would sell or promote.

Oh, hey, DJ Khaled stops by! His shirt billows in the icy kitchen wind as Martha says, “We’re cooking here,” suggesting he cover up lest he get splattered. Now more than ever, we need a pre-breakfast-for-dinner blessing from Archbishop of Bacon, Snoop Dogg: “At the crack of midnight, for breakfast we gather / Surrounded by friends, there’s no one I’d rather / break bread with and party / soon laughter takes over / because I stuck some sticky-icky into Martha’s popover.” This episode was so funny I couldn't stand it . Martha has such a keen sense of humor. n the end, Khaled gives his major keys to breakfast, and though they don’t make a ton of sense, he says he can tell that Martha and Snoop’s food was made with love, like you’d make at home. While pointing back to the dual-kitchen, Snoop says, “This is home. She got her side, I got my side, but we both come together to make the real thing.” You guys, I swear I got a little emotional. Of course, Marty always knows how to keep it in perspective, offering her own heart-warming take: “It’s a split-personality kitchen.” The
commercial is one of the funniest one's that I seen that night. The atmosphere is nice
they both have so much money nothing phases either one of them.

Martha and Snoops show is so funny I would have to say I would love to be at there dinner
table. Snoop is promoting his talent and Martha is promoting hers.

“Right now, I’m not thinking about makin’ love … I’m thinking about bacon love,” says Snoop, confirming he is my forever soulmate. He then takes what I would estimate is 20 to 30 slices of bacon, and just piles them in a medium-size skillet. “So you’re not finicky about getting nice, long, even slices of bacon?” asks Martha, a woman who’s clearly finicky about getting nice, long, even slices of bacon. But as another woman who’s finicky about her bacon love, I’m inspired. Snoop and Keke poke at that mound of raw cured pork until it’s a mound of cooked, curly, crispy bacon. “We ain’t doing that TV bacon,” Snoop exclaims. “This that hood bacon, when you go to grandma’s house.”
The commercial is so right on time there showing critics that there around to stay and there showing you that they will be successful at anything they promote.

Week 4 EOC: Jerry Della Femina,Empowering Women Ad's,Women and Advertising

Jerry Della Femina

Jerry Della Femina was a hot guy back in the early 60's. The advertising world was made up
of suit and tie guy's drinking martini's and eating steaks with suit's and cuff link's. Par for the course
the advertising world has changed quite a bit." There is a great deal of advertising that is much better than the product. When that happens, all that the good advertising will do is put you out of business faster." Advertising has changed to a certain extent. Back in Jerry's day the men were very busy womanizing and prejudice against women in the advertising board room. There is a certain type of stigma in the advertising world. Women are doing well if there white women there is still some
small road blocks up as far as moving ahead of times. Jerry was a very bogus and loud talking guy
very harsh and opinionated type of guy."Advertising is the most fun you can have with your clothes on". Jerry came from a poor family in New York and mad his self who he is today.

 Women and Advertising

Women had no place in the advertising world accept for serving coffee and prancing around back then. As you see here in the picture the lady in the green looks quite inappropriate for the office wearing tight dress and curvy and quite sexy looking and she looks like she should be some where else instead of working in a advertising company. Women are bold and stronger now and stand strong.
Also since the 1960's our law's have changed quite a bit. And some need to be tweaked a little bit also. You would have never seen anything like this back then.
"The new season of Mad Men — with its main characters starting up a new agency of their own — may bring us a few of those crazy scenes. As for the larger cultural revolution predicted by Della Femina, it's four decades later and we're still waiting."

These Empowering Ads Were Named the Best of #Femavertising

The Dove commercial and Dodge truck to name a few are very inspiring ad's for women in the advertising world.
"We had conceived of the awards because we were following a trend in advertising around female-empowered messaging and creative," said Samantha Skey, She Knows Media's chief revenue and marketing officer. "We decided it was a good moment to reward the companies that were making a special effort to inspire and motivate positive behaviors among women and girls."
"I'm really proud of the fact that Dove has been playing in this space for the better part of 10 years and thrilled that other brands are jumping on the bandwagon to push it along," said Kathy O'Brien, vp of skin and marketing services for Unilever North America. O'Brien noted that Dove will consider collaborating with She Knows on its campaign but that no firm plans are in place.
Ads catering to women are much more positive there still women but, strong go
 with a positive message .

M.A.C  Make-Up "Bold and Strong"

This Mac Makeup ad shows a woman in a dress with that body builder image.
She is smart, strong, sexy and yes she wear's M.A.C makeup. Unstoppable type
of ad that boost women as far as advertising .

If you wear this makeup you can conquer anything! You can make some changes!
Wear M.A.C wear this make-up and you will be stronger than ever. This ad get's my attention. Makes me want to go in and purchase something right away. I wear
this make-up and I would go in just to see what color lipstick she has on.

"Though it is considered a high quality brand, M.A.C attempts to reach out to all women. Their color base for foundations has been lauded for including shades from very pale to extremely dark. Their products reflect the women that wear them, and the lifestyles they lead. Throughout our campaign, our main goal was to bring out the edge in M.A.C products. Whether you’re rocking a whole face of makeup or just a statement lip, we wanted women to choose M.A.C for their edge".

"We also plan to maintain M.A.C Cosmetics’ social prominence , which is a result of their already highly targeted content strategy that is fulfilling the needs of consumers, earning shares and interactions on the key social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The Colour Cosmetics Social Engagement Report, created by international digital marketing agency Sticky eyes, doesn’t just rank the brands that produce the greatest volume of content or have the largest following but looks at how brands engage with their customers, where they engage with them and how brands are benefiting from this engagement. Competitor analysis" .

Week 3 EOC: Bill Bernbach,Creative Thinking,Smoke AD.

Bill Bernbach Aug -1911 til Oct-1982

Bill Bernbach was a icon in his time period. He had very innovative ad's that were quite
creative and racy. Bill was the type of guy that made you think. He was a legend in the
advertising forefront. His ad's were Ivy League and wasp catered to a certain clientele. Bill
was a force behind a lot of  popular ad's coffee and cereal to name a few. Bill won companies
top honor's and a lot of awards for his crafty wit. Bill was a Jewish immigrant making his way without any college back ground and he really changed advertising for ever. Bill really opened
the advertising world with his believable ad's to really make you want to buy the product. People
trusted his worked and there is no other like him in the advertising world. Times have changed and people have different creative thinking now a days. Advertisement now is really edgy and can be
quite controversial.

Creative Thinking.

"They'll think I'm foolish," or "That will never work." But we can learn to recognize this voice or judgment and have the courage to discount its destructive advice.
Brainstorming allows a group of people to contribute ideas on a topic without regard to how practical they may be. The purpose is to come with an "outside the box" solution that might not occur otherwise. While many of the ideas generated may not be feasible, it is possible that by removing practical constraints, an idea will surface that you can mold into a workable solution. Another advantage is that you'll receive input from several people instead of just one or two individuals.

• Ask "what if" questions and encourage speculative thinking.
• Accept risk and a certain amount of failure. I believe it was Edison who said "to have one good idea, have a lot of them."
Creativity is moving from the known to the unknown.  Culture exerts a negative force on creativity according to Pearce (1974), however, “were it not for creativity, culture itself would not be created.”

The evolutionary method of creativity also reminds us of that critical principle: Every problem that has been solved can be solved again in a better way. Creative thinkers do not subscribe to the idea that once a problem has been solved, it can be forgotten, or to the notion that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." A creative thinker's philosophy is that "there is no such thing as an insignificant improvement
Creative Thinking: Thinking outside the box. Using all your inner thought's and feeling's. Creativity
is opening up your mind. Living on the edge as far as thinking. I work my creative energy all the time.

Smoking Gun Ads

This ad is screaming come on try one Dr. Smith smokes and he is still around. You to can also smoke and look this good Camel is the brand for this man. Who is he? Is he a doctor? Why this man?
Back then these ads were catered to American wasp Ivy league business men who had good jobs  and were  suit and tie guy's. In the 1950's and 1960's the consumer believed that pigs could fly. So why not put
doctor look alike on a smoking ad. Get people's attention get them to buy these Camel cigarettes.
Today ad's are racy, edgy, and still grab your attention half naked people on the beach in the water
wearing the latest perfume or cologne this to could be you if you use this. Advertisement Ad's they
want the consumer happy. And want them to look good at doing what ever they do with there products.

Advertising is a big business they can make people buy a product Immediately or get them to go
Back and take a look at the item. There memory can jump start by an ad they seen in the store or the mall. Advertising ad's get me to think of the product ,Look up info then go back and purchase the item
Advertising ad's work for me in the positive way. I always wanted to be in advertising and have a career
In it. Maybe that's my next calling to work at an ad agency.
Furthermore advertising could be a jingle that we wont forget and keep singing it and thinking about
it and then go purchase the item, or product and or beverage because on a catchy tune that you heard.

Week: 2 EOC

What do you think about this ad? Are you saying that her body shouldn't be uncovered because

she is heavy? Slim women only can uncover and wear this Bra and Panty set? lane Bryant is a plus

size Company and I'm sure some lady's were not happy with this as in general. I wonder was there

another way of putting this out there? Why sure there were some other ad's they could have posted.

She is a beautiful plus size model and the caption is not very savvy and it could have been done

with another caption .  How about Sexy comes in all sizes, color's and shapes. This body? What about

this body what were they trying to say? This ad would have been more tasteful if they changed the

caption and said something more pleasing. What do you think?

Week 2 EOC

This ad is very derogatory towards overweight people and people not very attractive. It has

underlying meaning stating if you had to many drinks this lady will get slimmer and better looking

as the night goes on. Some people with weight issues and that are not very attractive would be very

upset by this ad. Is the ad giving mixed signal's? If you were over weight would you be upset by this

add? What do you think about this ad?  In my personal opinion if I was over weight I would be upset.

Imagined if Ophra had to hail a cab and she seen this ad? What would she think?  She would call

the weight lost advocacy to take it down I'm sure. Just saying she has had weight issues in the past.

Week 2 EOC HomeWork

This ad has major sexual content and it's offensive to some women. It's referring to doing some
explicit sex acts. Like open wide for a surprise and they put a hamburger there . It just taste better
what does that mean? It taste better than what ? What are they referring too? Do you find this ad offensive? It's sending out mixed messages I have never seen this ad before. It's rather funny I don't find it all that bad. They get the message across foot long sandwich or the new sub sandwich coming through. I'm sure the feminist group's thinks this ad is being very sexist. And that the ad is to racy and
send's out bad messages to our youth.

You wonder should they do a better ad. I seen there ad's on television and I really don't care for the two twin commercials it very silly. I don't really eat Burger King so I wouldn't really think twice about this ad. Some people could stop eating there or not buy the sandwich or some people might
rush in to buy it because of the commercial you have to think open your mind to this advertisement.

Week 1 EOC : Volkwagen Lemon AD

Advertising with Volkswagen was very controversial a German owned business
Above are the two main ads that launched the Volkswagen brand in America.
“Lemon” ad copy starts: “This Volkswagen missed the boat. The chrome strip on the glove compartment is blemished, and must be replaced.”
It was shocking, to say the least, for an auto brand to call their car a lemon.
What made the ad even more appealing than the shock value, was that the Bug was in fact (and still is) shaped like a lemon.
To say “Think Small” with regard to autos in 1960 was revolutionary.
Most American car ads from the era looked exactly like this.
Bigger was better, the bigger the better.
But Volkswagen never shied away from this startling, risky strategy.
This worked out pretty damn well for them.
VW’s ad agency was Doyle Dane Bernbach, with the great Bill Bernbach leading the creative department.
There are about 200 or so 1960s VW ads available online.
I picked my 50 favorites (with a couple of early 1970s executions).
